UW Medicine Supply Chain currently has an outstanding opportunity for a INVENTORY CONTROL COORDINATOR.
The System Inventory Control Coordinator is a UW Medicine Supply Chain position. The Inventory Control Coordinator (IC Coordinator) is responsible for partnering with UW Medicine Primary Care to pursue opportunities for reduction of expenses in equipment, supplies, and service areas for all aspects of the supply chain.
The Inventory Control Coordinator will participate in and partner with others on UW Medicine Materials and Logistics operational improvement efforts and programs ensuring a compliant, effective, and streamlined operational UW Medicine Supply Chain experience at UW Primary Care Clinics.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process, Quality and Service Improvement (65%):
Assist in the implementation of system-wide collaborative systems and structures utilizing the distribution partner as the primary utility to improve inventory turns and reduce facility redundancies in supply logistic and warehouse operations.
Ensure system compliance for accreditation and other regulatory bodies for storage and delivery of supplies as well as recalled or suspended inventory products.
Understand, communicate, and implement standardized continuous process improvement strategies to include Six Sigma and Lean to all staff. Engage in continuing education initiatives to ensure that leading-edge technologies are utilized appropriately within the system.
Analyze product usage and adjust inventory levels as appropriate to optimize inventory levels at the entity.
Anticipate supply needs and communicate potential interruptions to Manager/Supervisor and customers.
Maintain and monitor distribution statistics. Create and submit monthly reports and others, as requested.
Independently make decisions and take action regarding supply shortages, keeping management informed, and/or make recommendations based upon analysis of information.
Perform causative research and reconciliation prior to preparing reports.
Assist in all patient supply product evaluations.
Assist in development of departmental policies and procedures, in coordination with Supervisors and Managers.
Lead entity product recalls and product returns.
Represent the entity on product committees and other committees, as directed.
Fiscal Management (15%):
Work with Supply Chain leadership to implement system-wide standardized inventory control and cycle counting strategy to provide appropriate financial controls and management.
Responsible for partnering with UW Medicine Primary Care management to pursue opportunities for reduction of expenses in equipment, supplies and service areas for all aspects of the supply chain.
Deliver cost savings and value maximization to the total cost of ownership of equipment, supplies and services while fulfilling the mission of the organization.
Assure appropriate Internal Control processes are in place across the procurement cycle functions and are promulgated throughout the enterprise.
Leadership (10%:)
Exercise strong leadership, facilitation, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to lead successful teams of individuals, motivate project participants, and communicate effectively at all levels across the system.
Provide day-to-day accountability for supply inventories, monitoring volumes, flow, and sourcing. The IC Coordinator will provide oversight for inventory-related projects and assignments. The IC Coordinator may lead work on behalf of the supervisor or as directed by management.
Information Management (10%)
Optimize use of Materials Management Information System and other supply chain automation tools that work to eliminate, simplify, centralize, and automate work.
Utilize standardized system-wide dashboard analytics to measure inventory levels, ensure proper inventory controls and other supply chain operations key measures of performance to ensure they are measured, monitored, and meet goals.
Function as Information Services Liaison for training users in current electronic requisition system.
Maintain current Materials Management Information System supplies database in conjunction with System Supply Chain Management database management teams.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Business or Logistics/Supply Chain Management.
2 years of Supply Chain Management or Finance experience.
Key experience highlights include:
Healthcare business operations and/or financial management experience in a healthcare setting.
Experience standardizing disparate processes.• Experience in process improvement methodology, change management, project management, operational improvement.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements
Desired:
CMRP (Certified Materials Resource Professional) Preferred. - 1 year in a healthcare setting preferred. - Formal training in Lean/Six Sigma or similar process improvement programs is preferred
