Owns and drives execution for all aspects of strategic proposal (Request for Information (RFI), Pre Proposal Questionnaire (PPQ), Invitation to Tender (ITT), Request for Proposal (RFP) Security Questionnaires, etc.) delivery and competitive market intelligence findings to deliver winning proposals and actionable market insights to drive Vision Care growth and retention in support VSP Enterprise goals & strategies.
Presenting complex and unfamiliar topics in compelling ways to inform decision making.
Creating an environment where both teams cross leverage the knowledge and findings of the other for the benefit of Vision Care, ensuring both strongly reflect best practices, customer and internal stakeholder input and needs, with consistently well-documented and communicated outcomes.
Supporting the Vision Care buying and selling processes at all stages and for all business units.
Overseeing the development and delivery of winning, compliant, professionally produced proposals, bids, quotations, RFP responses, or other documents describing VSP Vision Care products and services in response to requests from prospective and renewing clients
Contributing as a thought-leader to identify areas for Vision Care growth and expansion through rapid-scenario planning, recommendation curation, and project plans.
Maintaining a deep understanding of the vision insurance marketplace and competitive landscape to inform best strategies, practices and decisions to address current and emerging competitive threats, competitors' solutions, product strengths and weaknesses, strategies, and partnerships.
Provide robust and insightful win/loss reporting, competitive updates and board and committee reports that inform executive strategic planning and arm the sales force for battle.
Collaborating with Product, Sales, Underwriting and Marketing teams etc. to help articulate competitive benefits & differentiators of VSP.
Overseeing deep-dive research on product experiences and go-to-market tactics of our competitors and synthesizing competitive insights and implications for executive consumption.
Overseeing department activities such as planning, setting priorities, budgeting, monitoring expenses, aligning resources, dashboarding and status reporting.
Analyzing and recommending and vendor management of specialized content, production and analysis tools and platform(s) to drive scale and efficiency in delivering legendary quality and service.
Overseeing vendor management and/or recruitment for Win/Loss research, insights, best practices and recommendations for VC, Executive and Board stakeholders.
Prioritizes, assigns and distributes work to ensure responsibility is at the appropriate level.
Coordinates with other departments to facilitate special requests, resolve workflow or production issues.
Recruits and leads a diverse team of specialized talent including market researchers, program managers, information analysts, proposal specialists, etc.
Leads, monitors performance and coaches' direct reports to ensure skills and knowledge are continually developed to meet future business needs.
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Communications, Marketing, Economics, Research or related field or related experience.
Minimum of 8 years of management experience with responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work and managing performance of direct reports.
Proven superior mathematical, analytical, problem solving, presentation and negotiation skills
Advanced MS Word / PowerPoint/ Excel skills.
Working knowledge of Proposal, Competitive Intelligence, Presentation and content management software.
Demonstrated understanding of industry forces, competitor landscape and product positioning.
Proven ability to research and analyze markets, products and competitors and translate that information into actionable intelligence and winning proposals.
Proven ability to quickly create differentiated positioning and messaging that resonates with prospects, clients and internal stakeholders.
Strong sense of accountability, ability to work independently and productively in an unstructured environment.
Proven record of translating, synthesizing and articulating complex concepts from large variety of internal and external information sources into simple and clear terms.
Proven ability to utilize analytical and problem-solving skills to make decisions as well as escalate critical issues to senior management with risk mitigation plan alternatives.
Ability to regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties.
