The UCI Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Resource Center provides a wide range of education and advocacy services supporting intersectional identity development. Your Role on the Team
Using knowledge and skills as a seasoned, experienced Student Services professional, performs the full range of duties and responsibilities within a Student Life specialization. Assesses situations and determines appropriate action or referral. Works independently under general supervision to provide information and interpretation of complex policies, procedures and regulations. Identifies and responds to student needs for programs, services, and crisis intervention.
Reporting to the Director, the LGBTQ+ Program Specialist for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Resource Center (LGBTRC) is responsible for managing and developing campus-wide programs, as well as the daily management of programs and services at the LGBTRC. Create and implement campus-wide programs, LGBT theme weeks, Lavender Graduation and Year End Celebration and other LGBTRC sponsored workshops and presentations. This person is responsible for oversite of QTBIPOC programming and planning. Develop funding proposals, monitor program budgets, coordinate publicity, collaborate and liaison with campus and community organizations and departments as appropriate.
Coordinate the selection, training, and supervision of student interns, field study, and volunteers. Supervise production of the Center web page and other materials for publicity. Provide student support, advocacy, crisis intervention, and referrals to campus and community resources. Assist campus departments in the development of supportive and safe environments for all students.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $58,600- $75,000 (Annual).
Required:
Thorough knowledge of Student Affairs / Student Life specialization.
Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving, identifying measures of system performance and the actions to improve performance.
Abilities in project management, problem identification and reasoning skills.
Ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training. BA/BS degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment with a minimum of four (4) years' experience
Effective communication skills to interact with a variety of staff, faculty, students and off campus agencies/community groups in a daily work environment.
Minimum 2 year's in LGBTQ+ work at a resource center.
2 years in Higher Education
Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
Ability to provide support, advocacy, crisis intervention and appropriate referral information, using discretion, confidentiality, and understanding of campus policy.
Preferred:
Thorough knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
Strong knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.
Master's degree preferred.
Special Conditions:
Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience working with, LGBTQQIA and QTBIPOC communities.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the intersections of race, ethnicity, class, gender, sexual orientation, ability and religion/spirituality as they relate to LGBTQQIA communities and individuals.
Demonstrated ability to design and deliver support services and programs to address contemporary issues within a higher education environment
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when necessitated by program requirements
