The Coordinator for Student Involvement and Organizations is an integral member of the student organizations team within the Ohio Union and Student Activities department. This role administers all aspects of the student organization registration process for over 1,400 groups including support for new organizations, as well as registration-related trainings throughout the year. Supervises, hires, trains, and schedules team of Student Organization Coaches and Student Managers, including a variety of coaching meeting offerings. Plans and implements programs including Student Involvement Fairs, Student Org Essentials workshops, and other innovative programming initiatives to meet the changing needs of a diverse student organization community. Manages communications with student organization community including weekly email newsletter and general email account, as well as updates website and online calendar content. As part of the Ohio Union and Student Activities team, this role attends team meetings and participates in committees and special projects through Student Life, the university, and greater community.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience plus 3 years of relevant experience required; experience in program planning and administration; demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication.
Desired qualifications:
Masters degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs or related field; demonstrated skill in facilitation and program design; experience supervising student employees; experience working at a large collegiate institution; experience fostering inclusion within diverse communities. 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred. Cover letter is preferred.
Duties Description:
30% Student Organization Registration and Training: Administers all aspects of the student organization registration process; Provides support for brand new organizations by conducting New Organization Welcome Meetings; Coordinates, designs, and manages delivery of training for presidents, treasurers, and advisors.
25% Supervision: hires, trains, schedules, and supervises team of 10-15 Student Organization Coaches, including 4 specialized Student Managers who support Coach training, communications, and programs; Maintains a variety of coaching meeting offerings and monitors service engagement, making adaptations and providing specific training to Coaches as needed.
25% Programming: Plans and implements programs including two annual Student Involvement Fairs and the Student Org Essentials workshop series; Coordinates innovative programming initiatives to meet the changing needs of a diverse student organization community.
10% Communication and Marketing: Manages communication sent to student organizations via a weekly email newsletter and general email account; Maintains website and online calendar content.
10% Miscellaneous: Attends Ohio Union and Student Activities meetings; Provides direct and indirect support for Ohio Union and Student Activities programs; Participates in other Student Life and university committees as necessary; Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.
The pay range for this position is $43,900-$48,000.
