Job Description: Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Technology Officer (AVP/CTO), the Assistant Vice President for Information Technology for Enterprise Applications provides executive leadership to the teams responsible for Enterprise Application Services (EAS) and Identity and Access Management (IAM). This position oversees strategies, operations, and budgets related to administrative applications, enterprise systems, and IAM, while fostering a culture of community, creativity, and accountability within these teams. The Assistant VP is instrumental in transitioning EAS from providing services tailored primarily to individual schools, colleges and departments to becoming a strategic leader in influencing how enterprise applications are implemented across the entire University. By promoting standards and practices that balance operational needs with sustainable technology solutions, the Assistant VP drives innovative and strategic use of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and services.Key responsibilities include building partnerships with business area leaders whose operations rely on enterprise applications, participating in University forums, and developing a long-term vision for ERP and IAM initiatives. This includes championing project management and change management strategies to align technology with desired outcomes. The role also emphasizes active participation in professional organizations such as Educause, Internet2, and Alliance to remain informed of emerging IT trends in higher education, along with cultivating vendor relationships to maximize the value of enterprise application investments. As a member of the ITS senior leadership team, the Assistant VP contributes to the development and promotion of ITS goals and strategies, ensuring alignment with Syracuse University's mission and objectives. This position requires a strategic leader with demonstrated experience in higher education IT governance, application development, IAM, budget management, vendor relationship management, and organizational strategic planning.

Provide direct oversight and strategic direction for Enterprise Application Systems (EAS) and Identity and Access Management (IAM) teams.
Manage budgetary, financial, and human resources for all teams within the leadership portfolio, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
Collaborate with senior IT leadership to offer organizational perspectives that inform decision-making and align ITS initiatives with University priorities.
Actively participate in ITS senior staff meetings, contributing to the leadership and management of the organization.
Assist and support senior IT leadership in building and maintaining strong partnerships across the campus community to align technology initiatives with institutional needs.
Represent ITS on University-wide strategic and operational task forces and committees, contributing to the development and execution of cross-functional initiatives.
Consult with external technology experts to identify and evaluate emerging IT trends and opportunities that align with the University's and ITS's strategic goals.
Foster relationships with regional and national IT organizations, including EDUCAUSE, Internet2, and EAB, as well as peer institutions in higher education, to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Develop, maintain, and promote robust partnerships with strategic IT vendors and agencies to optimize the University's technology investments.
Collaborate with senior IT leadership and campus IT leaders to implement the vision of ITS, actively engaging in the planning, development, and management of the University's technology services.
Partner with the ITS executive management team to plan, direct, and implement short- and long-term objectives, including budget preparation, and evaluate progress toward achieving ITS strategic goals.
Engage closely with campus stakeholders to gather input and ensure the applications and technology solutions delivered by ITS align with stakeholder needs and exceed customer expectations.
Serve as a senior advisor to ITS leadership, providing guidance on strategic initiatives and technology planning.
