Description:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Career Design and Development, the Associate Director of External Relations plays a key role in creating opportunities for experiential learning and employment for all students. The Center for Career Design and Development educates and inspires students to develop an individualized and evolving career path focused on exploration, preparation, and professional growth. This position relies heavily on data analytics, prescriptive analysis, data curation, digital transformation, technological proficiency, and the integration of technology.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Builds a robust database and advanced analytics system to improve data reporting and facilitate data-driven decision-making, optimizing operational efficiency across recruitment and workforce development efforts.
Cultivates and enhances partnerships with diverse internal and external stakeholders, leveraging insights to foster collaboration with employers and strengthen community engagement.
Designs and delivers data-informed professional development programs for employers focused on inclusive recruitment and retention practices, fostering a diverse workforce.
Analyzes student enrollment trends and interests to develop targeted employer partnerships and customized recruitment strategies that align with organizational goals.
Oversees on-campus recruitment initiatives, including the planning and execution of 6-10 career fairs annually.
Manages employer outreach, registration, sponsorships, and logistical arrangements to ensure successful events.
Leverages data analytics to evaluate participation trends and workforce development needs, guiding continuous program enhancements.
Collaborates with employers to design tailored recruitment strategies that align with their workforce development goals, providing ongoing support to adapt to evolving organizational needs while promoting inclusive excellence in hiring practices.
Supervises the External Relations Coordinator and Graduate Assistant.
Recruits, trains, and mentors undergraduate student employees with a strong emphasis on career readiness and workforce development.
Represents the Center for Career Design & Development at admissions events, such as open houses and transfer days, effectively communicating the center's services and benefits while gathering data on prospective student interests to better tailor workforce development initiatives.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in data analytics, business, higher education with a concentration in data analytics, or a related field required.
A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in higher education and recruiting, with a proven track record of promoting student development and fostering positive relationships, both on and off-campus.
Demonstrated strong quantitative and analytical skills to assess trends and inform workforce development strategies, with experience utilizing advanced technologies to enhance decision-making and drive digital transformation.
Exhibits flexibility and creativity in a dynamic environment, using digital tools to foster collaborative approaches that meet the evolving needs of students and employer partners.
Possesses a collaborative disposition with the ability to think critically and strategically.
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and connect with diverse groups of students, colleagues, families, and external audiences.
A passion for and experience working with students, families, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds, using data analytics to identify and address unique needs.
A commitment to social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion, creative problem-solving, strategic planning, relationship-building, maintaining knowledge of industry/college recruiting trends, and exceptional leadership skills.
