The Greater Oregon STEM Hub (GO STEM) is a regional cross-sector collaborative working to improve and guide integrated science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education in eastern Oregon communities. The Greater Oregon STEM Hub is a collective impact partnership that is part of a statewide network of STEM Hubs supported by Oregon Department of Education.
The Greater Oregon STEM Hub is tasked with leading the efforts of partners to create and deliver STEM education programs designed to break through systemic barriers, provide inclusive access, open opportunities and build confidence in P-12 students and educators. GO STEM provides engaging learning experiences that promote and inspire educational and personal success among the educators and students it serves. The Greater Oregon STEM Hub?s Mobile Maker Lab Project Manager is able to design, manage and implement high-quality STEM, Career Connected Learning (CCL), and Work-based Learning (WBL) experiences for educators, students, community members, and other stakeholders.
The Mobile Maker Lab Project Manager is one of two Mobile Maker Lab educators who reports to and works closely with the Mobile Maker Lab Lead Project Manager, project partners, and other GO STEM Hub staff in promoting EOU and GO STEM?s mission, values, strategic and program goals. The Mobile Maker Lab Project Manager is skilled in a broad range of effective educational practices, curriculum development and delivery, professional development, and event and program delivery of STEM initiatives. They may be the first point of contact for the community regarding in- and out-of-school, and community educational programming of the GO STEM Hub?s Mobile Maker Lab. This position provides direct program engagements with schools and communities across the vast seven-county region.
In partnership with the Mobile Maker Lab Lead Program Manager, other Mobile Maker Lab educators, partners, and Hub staff, this position will publicly promote and support STEM programs with a high level of creativity, innovation and passion. They work well independently and as part of a dynamic and flexible team. The Mobile Maker Lab Project Manager must be able to exercise independent judgment and make decisions necessary to achieve success in Hub activities. They will have confidence working with in- and out-of-school events and activities. They will communicate effectively with sensitivity and understanding when dealing with administrative colleagues, volunteers, teachers, students, parents, industry partners and other stakeholders.
The Mobile Maker Lab Project Manager will utilize the GO STEM Mobile Maker Lab, a large mobile classroom trailer and extended length van in these efforts to promote STEM Hub initiatives directly in communities across Eastern Oregon.
