The Leadership Development Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of our leaders and Employees. Supporting leaders’ growth and development and serving as a consultant for training throughout the organization.
Primary Position Responsibilities
Design, evaluate and oversee the implementation of CoServ’s EM4 program and continued ongoing leadership development by analyzing needs and formulating programs and schedules based on knowledge of identified needs, changes to business systems, services, or procedures.
Develop training materials, modules, and resources, such as presentations, guides, videos, and online courses, tailored to different leadership levels and competencies.
Collaborate with organizational leaders, subject matter experts, and HR professionals to identify training and development needs, align coaching strategies, and create targeted programs aligned with our strategic objectives.
Design, deliver, and conduct training courses for current and potential leaders within the organization, as determined by annual planning or arising needs.
Empower Employees and leaders through personalized coaching and/or mentorship to enhance their leadership skills and career growth.
Develop metrics to effectively monitor the impact of training programs.
Provide pre-leadership development to high potential Employees in preparation for future leadership opportunities.
Coordinate securing outside training resources such as consultants, educational institution personnel, and business and industry representatives.
Responsible for creating and scheduling training sessions, maintaining Employee training records and providing training reports as requested through the learning management system (LMS).
Responsible for preparing and maintaining the training program budget.
Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and new methodologies in leadership training and development. Incorporate these insights into the training programs to ensure they remain current and effective.
Coordinate with legal in reviewing the required training contracts.
Comply with established CoServ safety and operating rules, procedures and guidelines including reporting unsafe practices to a supervisor.
Comply with established CoServ Information Security Handbook, policies, procedures, and guidelines including reporting suspected information security incidents to Tech Support.
Secondary Position Responsibilities
Creates and submits training invoices quarterly or as necessary.
Support the Training and Development Specialist (as necessary).
Assist with internal communications, as needed.
Plan, organize, and coordinate Employee morale events.
Performs other duties and activities as directed.

Experience, Education and Certifications Required
High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalency.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Five (5) years of leadership training experience or ten (10) years of experience as a leader in an organization.
Working knowledge of a learning management system (LMS).
Skills and Abilities Required
Strong knowledge of leadership principles and training methodologies, instructional design principles, and adult learning principles.
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously.
Analytical mindset with the ability to measure training effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
Experience in developing and implementing leadership development programs.
Excellent human relations and communications skills, both written and verbal.
Must have strong grammar skills.
Must understand the confidentiality required for this position.
Demonstrates competencies of leadership skills – planning, coordinating, directing, listening and communication.
Must possess personal computer skills and be proficient in Office 365 products including, but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop engaging and interactive training materials.
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Ability to work as a team player.
Ability to work flexible and extended hours as needed or directed.
Skills and Abilities Preferred
Knowledge of the cooperative business model.
