Chatham Hall is excited to begin the search for a Social Media Strategist & Photographer. Chatham Hall—a girls’ grades 9-12 boarding and day school in southern Virginia—has been a leader in educating girls since 1894.
The social media strategist/photographer is a critical member of the Chatham Hall Marketing & Communications Team. This person is a skilled and results-driven professional who coordinates and manages all social media content creation for Chatham Hall, assisting the School in reaching specific marketing, advancement, and enrollment goals, including engagement and conversion. The strategist will be pivotal in advancing the School's mission and value propositions via social media messaging with prospective and current parents, students, faculty, alumnae, and donors. This person also has strong photography skills and can capture engaging photos that reflect a vibrant campus community. Ideal candidates for this position should be collaborative, innovative, and digitally savvy. Ultimately, this position will drive highly effective social media campaigns and create a robust photography archive for the School.
Who You Are:
? Qualified candidate with 3-5 years of experience in social media marketing
? Skilled photographer with a strong eye for photography composition. Photos are used in both digital and print platforms. Versatile in Adobe Creative Suite.
? Strong content creator with experience representing a brand or organization on various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo, and LinkedIn
? Skilled writer and verbal communicator
? Familiar with emerging social media management tools
? Aware of industry-wide social media trends, promotional strategy standards, and best practices
? A multi-tasker who can easily prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment
? Inspiring collaborator with students, colleagues, and faculty with an overall positive and genuine attitude
What You'll Do:
? Write, edit, and manage content across Chatham Hall's department-specific social media accounts. This includes the School's main Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn pages and serving as a collaborating partner on alumnae, athletics, and riding Instagram and Facebook platforms.
? Collaborate with numerous stakeholders on campus to generate thoughtful and strategic social media content. As the department's social media representative, you will attend classroom activities, assemblies, Chapel services, field trips, and numerous arts events to tell the story of important campus events.
? Manage a strategic social media calendar using tools such as Later to ensure each platform/division has appropriate content support.
? Engage with Chatham Hall's social followers across all platforms.
? Utilize strong photography skills, including editing, to capture dynamic, engaging, and shareable content on Facebook and Instagram.
? Leverage custom video content across all of Chatham Hall's social channels. Video strategy includes partnering with a professional videographer for larger campaigns as well as capturing content for smaller video projects.
? Monitor and analyze social media user data to share with leadership to make more informed decisions.
? Keep up with social media trends.
Chatham Hall will provide a high-end camera with video capability and editing software.
