The pharmacy residency programs at HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood offer our residents the ability to learn, grow, and develop in the largest full-service, acute-care, teaching facility within the HCA Houston Healthcare hospital system.
As part of our comprehensive pharmacy residency programs, each resident will gain unique exposure to high-quality patient-centered care, medication safety, facility and division leadership and practice management, project management, quality and regulatory projects and education of healthcare providers and trainees.

The current Graduate Medical Education (GME) General Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, and Podiatry Residencies are an academic partnership with the University of Houston College of Medicine, which was established in 2020. It is just the start of an ever-expanding higher education collaboration between our two powerhouses.
Our clinical pharmacist team has an integral impact working in tandem with our physicians in our Antimicrobial Management Program, with pharmacists encouraged to become certified by the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists Antimicrobial Stewardship Certificate. As a result of our efforts, our institution has been designated by the Infectious Diseases Society of America as a Center of Excellence that delivers consistently high-quality care and serves as the gold standard for executing novel Antimicrobial Stewardship principles.
Additionally, HCA Houston Kingwood is equipped with a Level III Trauma Center, an Accredited Chest Pain Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and is accredited by DNV - Healthcare as the only Comprehensive Stroke Center in Northeast Houston. Program duration: 12 months, beginning early July
Rotation duration: 5-week blocks except for a 6-week orientation period

Include completed and anticipated advanced pharmacy practice experience rotations
Include leadership and organizational involvement

Official college of pharmacy transcript
Three references/letters of recommendations
References must be from preceptors, advisors, or managers able to speak to clinical problem-solving skills in direct patient care, leadership experience, or research experiences
References must comment on the following characteristics:

Completion of application requirements to the University of Houston College of Pharmacy if applicable
