Stony Brook University, School of Dental Medicine Department of General Dentistry is accepting applications for a part-time, term, non-tenured track position at the title of Clinical Assistant Professor. Responsibilities of the successful applicant will include the clinical teaching of all aspects of general dentistry to dental students and residents.
Required Qualifications: Required qualifications include:
- DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited dental school
- New York State dental license and proficiency in all facets of general dentistry.
- A certificate of completion from a CODA accredited General Practice Residency (GPR) Program or Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience in providing dental care to patients with special needs, especially those with developmental disabilities, in an ambulatory clinic and hospital OR environment
- Previous experience in an academic teaching position
- Knowledge and experience in digital dentistry such as CAD/CAM technology.

In response to the New York State Department of Health (DOH) regulation requiring Hospital and Nursing Home personnel to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, candidates selected for positions which may be affiliated with or interact with employees of Stony Brook University Hospital (SBUH), the Health Science Center Tower or the Long Island State Veterans Home (LISVH) if not already vaccinated, must be fully vaccinated or obtain the first dose of the vaccine within three (3) calendar days of acceptance of conditional job offer and must obtain any subsequent doses in accordance with the DOH vaccine protocol.
