Hunter College is the largest of the senior colleges in the City University of New York with an enrollment of approximately 20,000, including nearly 5,000 graduate students. At multiple campus locations in the city. Hunter offers a wide range of baccalaureate and master's degree programs in more than thirty academic departments and professional schools, and participates in the Ph.D. program of the City University of New York.
The Vice President for Campus Planning and Facility Management reports to the President and is responsible for the following operations: Plant operations Maintenance, Custodial Planning, Instructional Computing and Information Technology, Public Safety and Security, Environmental Health and Safety, Facilities Management and Planning.
CAMPUS SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Vice President will be responsible for:
Leading strategic direction and oversight of activities related to the college???s physical assets, construction and renovation projects, services and campus plant operations, including utilities, grounds, maintenance and custodial services.
Supporting strategic real estate planning, acquisitions and development.
Collaborating with all relevant constituencies in the College to support efforts in the area of capital improvements.
Serving as a member of the President???s Cabinet and providing senior staff support.
Managing day-to-day operational activities for capital projects, including design and construction.
Leveraging resources to address competing priorities while spearheading the mission of Facilities Management to maintain, construct, renew, and operate a clean, attractive, safe, accessible, and sustainable physical environment.
Advancing the College???s facilities initiatives and providing policy and planning advice.
Administering the University???s property and land assets, facilitating strategic planning, campus master plan, capital planning, facility design and construction, facility maintenance, capital construction project management and continuous improvement of its facilities
Accountability for the success of the overall planning, development, implementation and integration of the Department of Instructional Computing and Information Technology.
Presiding over the Public Safety Department and enforcing all established safety and security policies and procedures at the college
Directing and overseeing the Department of Environmental Health and Safety to maintain compliance with occupational, laboratory, environmental, and other safety standards issued by agencies having regulatory jurisdiction over the campus.
This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience. Additional qualifications are defined below by the College.
An advanced degree in a related field and at least ten years of progressively more responsible senior level experience in a broad variety of management areas, preferably in a large public institutional setting. Candidates should also have a strong commitment to the goals of urban, public higher education in a multi-cultural, multi-racial environment. Further preferred criteria include knowledge and appreciation of the complexities facing a comprehensive college in the twenty-first century as well as record of leadership and success in strategic planning and problem solving.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary commensurate with education and experience ($200.000- $250,0000).
