The Editor and Senior Writer is a skilled and creative storyteller who leads the production of Carleton’s award-winning alumni magazine, the Carleton College Voice, and writes and edits high-quality content for other digital and print communications channels. Working closely with partners in the Division of Communications and the Office of Alumni Relations, the Editor and Senior Writer plays a key role in telling Carleton’s story and the stories of its alumni, and ensures editorial excellence in the college’s premier publication.
The Editor and Senior Writer leads the Voice from concept to completion, including generating story ideas, developing editorial plans, researching, interviewing sources, assigning articles to freelancers, writing features and briefs, copy editing, and fact checking. Develops art memos, and work with the Director of Design and User Experience and the Art Director on art and photo ideas and decisions.
