The primary location of this position is on the main campus in Cullowhee, NC.
The College of Engineering and Technology (CET) at Western Carolina University (WCU) is growing! We are recruiting for a faculty position in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related field, at the rank of assistant or associate professor of practice. Responsibilities include teaching; advising; course and curriculum development; and engagement with regional business and industry. Research and scholarship opportunities are also available.
Professors of Practice routinely teach in multiple topical areas at the undergraduate and graduate levels in electrical and computer engineering. For this position, candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas are highly desired:
Cyber-Physical Systems
Digital Twins
Embedded Control Systems and Verification (Hardware-in-the-Loop)
This is a nine-month fixed-term position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Practice. Rank will be determined at the point of hire. The anticipated start date is August 2025.
