The Sr. Ambulatory Quality Improvement Consultant applies extensive knowledge of quality data analysis and improvement (QI) concepts, methodologies, and data collection and abstraction techniques to substantial projects of large scope and high degrees of complexity. The Sr. Ambulatory Quality Improvement Consultant will play a key role in the development, implementation, management, and sustainment of an organization-wide strategy for improving ambulatory quality and safety. Working with the Quality & Patient Safety team and organizational cross-functional teams, this individual will support activities to strengthen the culture of safety with the goal of improving the reliability of a complex system. This individual will independently lead a portfolio of system-level quality/process improvement projects from project scope and design, process redesign, implementation testing, performance metric management, and sustainment plans. The incumbent is also responsible for overall implementation and maintenance of quality management programs and facilitates assigned programs with specified objectives. The Sr. Ambulatory Quality Improvement Consultant assumes responsibility for ensuring or supporting assessment and planning, performance measurement and monitoring, evaluation, and quality improvement for the delivery of quality patient care. They serve as an expert resource on quality improvement and provide advice and counsel on optimal strategies and policies for performance improvement and program development in all clinical quality improvement functions. The incumbent will demonstrate expertise in use of patient safety science and process improvement methodology and tools and independent project management skills.

Required Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite applications with emphasis on Excel and Visio
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to effectively analyze and interpret highly complex system reports and array, identify trends, problems and potential issues, and prepare and present plans in an actionable form
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Maintain strictness with confidentiality of information.
In-depth knowledge of QI standards, regulatory requirements, models, tools, and techniques, including collection, abstraction, validation, analysis, reporting of data, and use of performance and benchmark indicators
Highly driven and self-motivated.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Excellent presentation skills, including ability to speak before large audiences and prepare and provide presentations.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills to communicate effectively with physicians, managers and high-level administrative staff as well as support staff who are critical to departmental functions
Demonstrated extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of patient safety science and quality improvement methodologies / tools
Demonstrated ability to lead effective teams.
Demonstrated ability to be resourceful, employ creativity, and take initiative to identify and search for solutions and information that is not readily available
Bachelor's degree
Ability to prioritize and contribute to simultaneous projects and facilitate teamwork among project staff / participants
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize, and adhere to work deadlines.
Ability to inspire trust and be seen as someone who provides support and assistance.
Ability to effectively interview individuals and groups from diverse professional backgrounds.
Ability to collect event information and organize into a coherent narrative.
5 or more years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Quality and patient safety experience preferred
Master's Degree in a related field
Experience in ambulatory setting or in ambulatory focused quality improvement projects
Demonstrated Quality data analytic experience.
