Description
The Fashion Design department at Pratt Institute, located in Brooklyn, NY, is creating a pool of applicants to join our part-time faculty community.
At Pratt, we define fashion practice as cultural messaging through clothes. Students contextualize fashion within a social framework and through rigorous attention to production, craft, and contemporary aesthetics.

Examples of Duties
Teach part-time courses in the Fashion Design department, focusing on fashion as cultural messaging through production, craft, and contemporary aesthetics, while fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment.
Leverage expertise in areas such as sustainability, non-western fashion perspectives, digital storytelling, or fashion technology, to engage students in critical and innovative approaches to fashion design.
Qualifications
Candidate's professional or scholarly focus may include a broad set of interests within the field including design, textiles, and knitwear. We encourage applicants with experience and knowledge in the following areas of expertise:
Historical and critical perspectives on contemporary fashion design
Non-western perspectives on fashion design
Sustainability, materials and circular design practices
Digital storytelling, networked design, augmented/virtual reality and CLO3D
Technology, culture and fashion media
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications, ranging from $1500-$1720/per contact hour.
