Your impact:
Lead Production Managers, Interns, and Stagehands to ensure productivity and team harmony
Supervise stage/technical crew members, interns, and other employees as necessary and provide oversight of stage, sound, and lighting equipment for events and activities
Coach and develop the skills of Production Managers by setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and implementing development plans to ensure continuous growth and to round out individual ability
Work with Programming, rental clients, and resident companies, rental personnel to determine production needs and budgets
Conceptualize, install, inventory, operate, and service theatrical equipment systems and infrastructures both theatrical and non-theatrical
Responsible for the inspection and maintenance of rigging systems, genie lifts, orchestra lifts and other stage systems for safety as well as operations
Manage theatrical systems - including venue and event paperwork using industry standard applications
Prepare annual operating budget for department and capital expenditure projects
Generate or delegate labor and equipment estimates for upcoming shows
Review all department purchase orders and check requests
Review accident and incident reports to identify action items and solve root cause
Maintains knowledge of Employee Handbook, Evacuation Plans, and ADA & OSHA regulations
Act as Blumenthal Arts primary liaison with the IATSE Local 322, respond to grievances / contract disputes, and assist in contract negotiation

Job Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Technical Theater and at least 10 years of technical production experience with at least 5 years in a management position; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Experience in multi-theater venue that both produces events and supports touring shows is preferred.
ETCP entertainment electrician certification preferred
ETCP rigging certification preferred
Crowd management certification preferred
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Demonstrated ability in technical theater with a clear specialty in lighting/electrics, audio, rigging, video
Experience with AutoCAD, Vectorworks, or Lightwright design software and ability to produce paperwork as needed
Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and use of cloud-based file sharing
Ability to understand and troubleshoot theatrical system issues including signal flow, digital and analog systems, and networking systems
Moving lights, LED lighting, and conventional lighting and troubleshooting knowledge
Verbal, numerical, and spatial aptitude
Experience with Q-Lab programming and operations
Basic understanding of projection and video equipment including HD, SDI, DVI, and HDCP as it relates to video connections
Experience with audio equipment including signal flow, patching, routing, and basic troubleshooting
Time management skills and the ability to coordinate and delegate responsibilities
Budgeting and resource management ability

Physical Requirements
Motor coordination and the ability to lift 50 lbs or more with proper lifting tools or team members

Blumenthal Performing Arts is a nonprofit arts organization managing six theaters in the city center of Charlotte, NC. The Blumenthal hosts the largest Broadway season in the Carolinas, 16 resident companies, including the Charlotte Ballet and Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, and produces its own festivals such as the Charlotte Jazz Festival and Charlotte International Arts Festival.
