The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Washington University in St. Louis invites applications for up to two positions in Japanese literature or a closely related humanities field at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.  The period of specialization is open, but a focus on modern and/or contemporary Japan (19th century to the present), or work that bridges the conventional premodern/modern divide is preferred.
