Position Information: Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Facilities Services, the Assistant Director of Systems Administration and Client Support supervises the day-to-day operation of Client Services and oversees the management of the organization's various systems and servers. This position supports the ability of divisional leaders to provide maintenance, custodial, and landscaping services to the campus community through the functionality of the work order system FAMIS 360. The Director of Systems Administration and Client Support Services has responsibility for the implementation, management, and administration of all Facilities Services systems and is the liaison with the campus IT department when support is needed. Additionally, this position oversees the Asset Management Program and the team who are responsible for annual routine assessments of campus building assets (currently nearly 7,000) managed by Facilities Services.
The full salary range for the Assistant Director is $78,700 - $145,100 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $125,000 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California Vaccination Program Policy.
Requirements: Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience with an emphasis in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, or in a related field. Required
Experience Requirements
4 - 7 years of related experience. Required
Experience supporting and managing the delivery of IT service. Required
Experience supporting servers Required
Experience with database management, analysis, and reporting. Required
Basic knowledge of how to apply technologies and systems to meet business needs.
Knowledge of the design, development and application of technology and systems to meet business needs.
General knowledge of other areas of IT.
Skill in troubleshooting and problem-solving in a complex technical environment.
Knowledge of computer security best practices and policies, including demonstrated experience security moderate to highly complex server-based software.
Knowledge of own area of functional responsibility.
Experience with defining and developing operational support standards for all production systems and supported applications.
Strong project management skill sets.
Supervisory and management skills.
Strong communications skills, both written and oral.
Experience with developing and implementing in-house training processes to help deliver knowledge transfer to more junior personnel.
Ability to implement and troubleshoot system changes and modifications.
Must be agile and have the ability to navigate ambiguity while driving projects forward and adjusting to shifting business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to write technical instructions in the administration of systems and/or systems modifications.
