The Bearcat Promise Career Studio is a team of career development professionals who coach students and recent alumni from 11 academic colleges (College of Allied Health Sciences; College of Arts & Sciences; College-Conservatory of Music; College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning; College of Education, Criminal Justice, & Human Services; College of Engineering & Applied Sciences; Graduate College; College of Medicine; College of Nursing; James L. Winkler College of Pharmacy; and UC Online) through the career development process. This includes helping students reflect on their values, skills and interests, connect with experiential learning opportunities to gain hands-on experience, navigate co-op and full-time job searches, and learn how to attend and finance graduate school.
Job Overview
The CCPS Office of the Bearcat Promise Career Studio is seeking an Assistant Director of Career Technology & Training to oversee the University of Cincinnati?s career services software, provide ongoing training opportunities, and develop resources to increase utilization of platforms. This position is a new position to the college; thus, an ideal candidate will be adaptable, flexible, and take initiative in identifying areas of needs and proactive in finding solutions.
CCPS participates in the University's alternative work program; hybrid work schedule is negotiable.
Essential Functions
Career System Management (40%)
Oversee the University?s career technology platforms, supporting 50,000 users. Current platforms include Handshake (UC?s online employment database), Big Interview, Interstride, and Career Shift.
Serve as the initial point of contact for faculty, staff, and students for platforms. This includes monitoring email accounts and responding to questions, creating profiles for stakeholders, etc.
Create and manage workflows and system permissions consistent with policy and program needs.
Serve as the point of contact with technology vendors. Escalate questions, concerns, and recommendations as they arise and engage in planning meetings to discuss platform usage and any upcoming changes or enhancements.
Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase student utilization of resources.
Training (30%)
Collaborate across functions within the organization to ensure alignment of training materials with organizational needs.
Design, develop, and implement engaging in-person and virtual trainings for stakeholders (CCPS faculty and staff, Lindner Career Services, Blue Ash Career Services, Clermont Career Services, faculty teaching Career Education courses across the university, and students)
Develop and maintain job aids, videos, and activities to support just-in-time learning for team members.
Develop and conduct surveys and knowledge checks to ensure transition of knowledge. Gather feedback and adjust as needed.
Develop on-demand lesson plans, presentations, and assignments to assist faculty in integrating career education resources into courses.
Data Management & Communication (20%)
Collect, report, and identify trends related to student utilization of Career Studio events, services, post-graduation outcome information, etc.
Gather and tell compelling stories about students? and alumni career development in collaboration with Marketing and Communications
Other (10%)
Support Director in the day-to-day operations of the Career Studio as needed.
Serve on College of Cooperative Education & Professional Studies (CCPS) and University committees.
Assist with events, including career fairs, etc.
Additional duties as assigned.
Required Education
Bachelor?s Degree
Required Experience
Three (3) years of experience in ed tech, education, project management, career development, or related fields OR Master?s degree in lieu of experience.
Additional Qualifications Considered
Prior experience using Handshake as an administrator.
Demonstrated experience of strong communication skills.
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft PowerPoint and Word to produce high-quality deliverables.
