The Alumni and Career Services Fellow (ACS Fellow) will be a new or recent graduate with a strong interest in exploring the intersection of alumni engagement, lifelong learning, and career development. The Fellow is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing projects that enable students and alumni to engage with Alumni Engagement, Lifelong Learning, and Career and Professional Development initiatives. In addition, the Fellow coordinates the Alumni and Career Services social media communications strategy, and assists in the creation and editing of marketing materials as needed. The Fellow reports to the Associate Director of Alumni and Career Services Operations and Marketing. This is a two-year term position with an anticipated start date of mid-August, 2024.

Cultivates mutually beneficial collaborations between Alumni and Career Services units, current students, and recent alumni. In coordination with the Associate Director of ACS Operations and Marketing, seeks opportunities for W&L students to contribute to Alumni and Career Services marketing initiatives.
Primarily responsible for administering, maintaining and assessing performance of the social media communications strategy and content calendar in consultation with the Associate Director. This includes the website, social media, and interface with internal and external audiences.
Staffs ACS events and actively participates in initiatives to ensure programming success.
Regularly convenes students to discuss ACS programming. Building on these sessions, conducts analysis and prepares a formal report describing strengths and weaknesses of the events during the academic year. Makes suggestions for programmatic changes/enhancements.
Assists in the ideation, creation and editing of marketing materials, including newsletters, email campaigns, and promotional content.
Supports the Associate Director in exploring and researching new methods to reach and engage constituents via digital channels and platforms while staying abreast of industry trends.
Provides administrative support for ACS as a core member of the Operations and Marketing team.
Processes travel and expenses for the Executive Director.
Supports event planning and execution, including logistical arrangements, promotion, and on-site coordination.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Willingness to commit to the position for two years.
Strong communication and writing skills and demonstrated organizational abilities are expected.
Experience in social media management and content creation.
Experience with platforms such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred, but the ability to learn and adapt to new platforms and software is essential.
Ability to work as part of the collaborative ACS team, and capable of creative self-direction.
Preference will be given to candidates who are recent graduates and W&L alumni.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekend days in support of special events.
