This vacancy is a supervisory position for the Radioactive Materials Unit. The Environmental Health Supervisor will provide administrative, policy and technical direction for the Radioactive Materials Unit in order to promote and protect the health of the public within the scope of the activities assigned to the unit. The unit has the authority to regulate the users of radioactive materials in Minnesota and is charged with maintaining Agreement State status through the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Administrative and technical responsibilities include supervising the environmental monitoring program in the areas surrounding the nuclear plants, and a filling a key role in collaboration with local and state partners in Radiological Emergency Response.
