The Department of English is seeking a full-time Instructor or Assistant Professor to teach filmmaking courses in the Film Studies Program. This is a fixed-term position. Course load is three courses per semester and will include sections of the programs gateway production course, FLM260: Introduction to Digital Film and Emergent Media, and FLM334: Introduction to Screenwriting. The teaching assignment is also expected to include at least one advanced course in the candidate's area of specialization. An ideal candidate will complement the strengths of current production faculty and demonstrate compatibility with a liberal-arts curriculum that integrates filmmaking, the critical study of cinema, and creative writing across genres.

The program has overlapping strengths in investigating cinema in relation to issues of global cinemas, aesthetics and technology, and independent filmmaking.
