Career Center

1. In conjunction with the Director of Library Services, develops Archival and Special Collections policies and procedures.
2. Creates and maintains an annual plan for the College's Archival and Special Collections.
3. Oversees acquisition, appraisal, description, arrangement, and preservation of archival materials.
4. Maintains and preserves physical and bibliographic control of archival and special collections in digital and print formats.
5. Works closely with the Digital Services Librarian to create content for the Archives and Special Collections website.
6. Provides archival and research services to faculty, staff, students, and independent researchers, including coordinating access to physical and digitized collections.
7. Offers instruction sessions to faculty, students, and staff on using archival and special collections and utilizing the materials in research and research assignments.
8. Assists institutional units with programs and publications that incorporate archival or special collection materials.
9. With the Director's approval, may participate in grant applications.
10. Oversees the College's records management program and works with campus offices to plan for and maintain electronic records and digital archival materials.
11. Creates exhibits both for campus and community use.
12. Regularly assesses archival services and collections.
13. Supervises student employees.
14. Cooperates as a team member with the library staff in performing duties essential to efficient library services and operations.
15. Along with other librarians, participates in collection development, reference, instruction, and liaison services.
16. Attends seminar and training sessions to improve or update position-oriented skills and knowledge, when appropriate and funds permit.
17. Participates in local, state, and national organizations, when appropriate and funds permit.
18. Fulfils other related duties as assigned by designated supervisor(s).

Masters degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited institution or Masters degree in U.S. History (or similar degree) with an emphasis on archival administration required

Minimum of two years experience in academic/research archives, including demonstrated knowledge of digital information technology as it relates to archives required

Academy of Certified Archivists certification preferred

This Librarian position provides archival services for the College, maintains the special collections, acquires new materials, and serves with other librarians in supporting the mission of the Library and Learning Commons.
