Stanford Graduate School of Business External Relations department seeks a collaborative and innovative associate director to create and execute inventive lifelong learning programs and events. Driven by metrics, this colleague will design programming with an eye on engaging alumni who are not yet engaged in the life of the school, while educating all alumni (and future alumni) about the on-going benefits and opportunities of their GSB alumni status.
A highly cross-functional role, the ideal candidate will possess a strategic, metrics driven mindset, project management skills, curiosity, a sense of humor, a can-do attitude and a team-oriented approach. Within the Alumni Relations group, this position reports to the Senior Director of Alumni Relations. Staffing occasional evening and weekend events may be required. Flexible hours may be considered
Your primary responsibilities include:
Design, execute, and measure alumni education and outreach programs.
Partner with the GSB Reunions, Global Chapters and Program, and Diverse Alumni Communities teams to create educational programming to help accomplish their team goals.
Work with Executive Education to find opportunities to collaborate.
Develop strategies and implement outreach programs that enhance the university's reputation and visibility within our community.
Identify, manage, and steward speakers and presenters.
Evaluate and monitor trends for effectiveness of activities and segments.
Research alumni education trends for engagement potential and make recommendations for the department.
Collaborate with campus partners.
Use data to design programming and events to increase engagement amongst alumni who are not yet engaged with the school
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
Excellent strategic, organizational and project management skills and the ability to simultaneously plan and execute multiple projects.
Strong interpersonal, team and leadership skills; tact and flexibility in working with diverse population groups.
Strong ability to understand alumni needs, show good judgment and diplomacy, and a high tolerance for ambiguity.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with decision makers across many levels of an organization.
Ability to translate academic information into clear, accurate, and engaging prose
Experience with speaker management, coaching or coordination, particularly with faculty or high-level administrators
Experience working with cross-functional teams.
Strong track record as relationship builder and collaborator.
In addition, preferred requirements include:
Experience with virtual programming tools and software
Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
A minimum of 3 years of program design and execution experience
