General Description
Salary: $42,000 - $55,000 a year
The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Johns Hopkins welcomes applications for a full-time Junior Lecturer position to start in August 2025. The Junior Lecturer will contribute to our educational mission by serving as a professional teaching assistant (TA) for courses taught by our faculty. Duties include grading, managing online course materials, assisting with course organization, leading lab and discussion sections, and supporting student learning in office hours.
Junior Lecturers support a variety of introductory and upper-level psychology courses, with a courseload of eight undergraduate courses during the academic year (four per semester). Although it is not required, Junior Lectures can TA in the summer, and exceptionally strong candidates may be offered the opportunity to serve as the primary instructor for summer courses for additional compensation.
Successful candidates will receive a competitive salary and faculty benefits options, including health and retirement plan participation.
We are especially interested in candidates with a strong background in clinical and applied psychology, social/personality psychology, and research methods/statistics, though other areas of expertise are also welcome.
This job may be a good fit for applicants who would like some flexibility. While Junior Lecturers must be present at set times for class and other duties on campus, there is some flexibility with schedule and location for certain job responsibilities (e.g., grading).
We strongly encourage candidates with a Master's degree but will also consider candidates holding a Bachelor's degree who have exceptionally strong coursework and research experience.
