Lincoln School, founded in 1884, is an independent Early Childhood–Grade 12 Quaker school for girls in Providence, Rhode Island, with a co-ed Little School program. We are currently seeking a Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging with a start date of July 1, 2025.
This 12-month, full-time role is an excellent opportunity for a committed DEIB practitioner who excels at thinking strategically and working collaboratively and is compelled by our mission to “educate girls to fearlessly embrace the opportunities and responsibilities of full citizenship in a complex world.” Reporting to the Head of School and serving as a member of the senior Administrative Council, the Director is situated in the school’s Center for Justice, Peace and Global Citizenship. The Director works closely with school leadership to cultivate an equitable and caring school climate that centers belonging and connection.

Responsibilities include:
Working collaboratively as a thought partner with the Head of School and Departmental leadership to uphold the School’s strategic objectives
Coordinating student, faculty, and family programming coming from the Center for Justice, Peace, and Global Citizenship, including (but not limited to):
Serving as a resource for DEIB initiatives for faculty, staff, students, and community members
Leading student affinity groups and social justice clubs
Overseeing Upper School Silent Meeting and Quaker Studies component of Freshman Seminar
Coordinating student and faculty participation in local and national conferences related to DEIB
Helping to organize faculty and staff professional development pertaining to DEIB
Designing and implementing mission-aligned Global Programming across all divisions
Supervising Divisional Center Coordinators
Serving as liaison to the Board of Trustees Equity and Inclusion Committee
Active participation in faculty recruitment and hiring process
Build connections and partnerships with community organizations in greater Providence area
Facilitating discussion and conflict resolution with students and faculty when needed
Working with Division Directors to align curricular equity and inclusion practices with the School’s overall mission, goals, and strategic plan
Teaching at least two sections per semester in Middle and Upper School (courses assigned as needed depending on staffing)
