This position will develop, design, and conduct one or more research projects and organize daily operation of projects and specialized research areas to ensure work meets established objectives under moderate supervision. The position is a mix of conducting research projects, managing projects of the undergraduates in the lab, and assisting the PI and lab manager.
Responsibilities:
Develops, designs, and conducts one or more research projects and organizes daily operation of projects and specialized research areas to ensure work meets established objectives under moderate supervision.
25% Conducts research experiments according to established research protocols with moderate impact to the project(s). Collects data and monitors test results
15% Operates, cleans, and maintains organization of research equipment and research area. Tracks inventory levels and places replenishment orders
10% Reviews, analyzes, and interprets data and/or documents results for presentations and/or reporting to internal and external audiences
10% Participates in the development, interpretation, and implementation of research methodology and materials
10% Provides operational guidance on day-to-day activities of unit or program staff and/or student workers
10% Performs literature reviews and writes reports
20% Assists PI in grant-related paperwork, administrative work, idea generation, and general lab maintenance to maintain productive lab operation

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications - Experience in instrumentation or signal processing is required. In your cover letter please explain any instrumentation or signal processing projects that you have worked on. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - At least 1 year of prior research experience.
Preferred Qualifications - At least 1 year of grant writing and submission experience. - Voice related research experience.

Additional Information:
The School of Medicine and Public Health is in the process of creating a Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (HNS). Currently, Otolaryngology-HNS is a division within the Department of Surgery. As a result, this position will transition to the Department of Otolaryngology-HNS with an anticipated effective date of July 1, 2025. Specific details regarding the change in department and operational area will be communicated with the finalist in advance. The duties, salary, and expectations of this role will not change as a result of this department change.
