The review of resumes will begin when the posting closes. Applicants selected for an interview will be contacted via email. The interview process will consist of an initial 30-45 minute screening interview and one or two additional interviews for select candidates. Additionally, samples of relevant work may be requested.
This job is situated in Ann Arbor and on-campus work is expected four days a week, with a few offsite weeks throughout the academic year and an offsite period from mid-May to mid-August.
Provide a full range of administrative support for the chair and program. Serve as the front-line source of information to faculty, students, staff, and internal and external constituencies whether in person, on the phone, or via email. Use resources, technology, and good judgment to provide a high level of professionalism and customer service.
Act as a resource to the chair and assist with strategic initiatives for the program, including curricular development support, community events, and exhibition development.
Organize program meetings and events. Reserve rooms, arrange for AV equipment, order food, create related materials, and communicate with participants.
Attend faculty meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, and track actions and timelines. Ensure projects from faculty meetings are on target for completion; follow up on appropriate action items when needed.
Manage the calendar and help prioritize commitments to use the chair's time effectively. Provide timely and accurate information to the chair about agendas and meeting participants.
Independently coordinate with college staff, such as facilities, student affairs, finance, communications and others to resolve problems and communicate architecture program activities.
Prepare written communications on behalf of the chair.
Manage travel arrangements for the chair, guests, and others. Prepare itineraries, submit expense reports and process honoraria.
Create and maintain streamlined record-keeping and budget tracking systems for the program and help establish an infrastructure for the collection and viewing of materials for accreditation reviews.
Facilitate course material purchases for faculty, and handle all aspects of PCard reconciliation and expense reports.
Create architecture program posters and other graphic materials.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in higher education
5+ years of progressively responsible administrative and project management experience
Advanced technology skills including Google suite
The salary range for this position is $58,000 - $63,000. Factors used to determine salary include experience, knowledge and skills for the position. You are encouraged to discuss salary questions to honor transparency throughout the recruiting process.
