The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary
Reporting to the Managing Director of the Heilbrunn Center for Graham and Dodd Investing, the Associate Director works with the Managing Director in the strategic and operational management of the Center. The Associate Director oversees projects and daily operations, program and event management, and serves as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including full-time faculty members and 45+ adjunct faculty. The role requires strong organizational, communication, and relationship management skills to support the Center?s mission and enhance student engagement.

Responsibilities
Event Management
Oversees specific Center events such as the annual seminars, conference, investment competitions, semi-annual Advisory Board meetings, Information Sessions, and receptions.
Manages event logistics, including outreach and communications, executing marketing activities, providing on-site management and managing payments.
Recruit, train, and manage student volunteers for each event.
Program and Student Engagement
Serves as the primary contact for the Value Investing Program (VIP), advising prospective, admitted, and current students on curriculum and academic planning.
Leads the VIP admissions process, including:
Organizing student application submissions
Coordinating information sessions and interviews for more than 100 candidates
Collecting and summarizing interview feedback
Participating in selection committee meetings and drafting decision letters.
Work with the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) to pre-enroll students.
Oversees student engagement initiatives, such as:
Women?s Initiative office hours
VIP mentorship program
Applied Security Analysis class mentorship program, including fund visit days
Lunch series for the Heilbrunn Center?s faculty director and current students
Analyze data and make recommendations for improving content and experiential learning opportunities.
Partners with the managing director to strategically plan initiatives for the year, including developing new initiatives for content-focused academic tracks.
Manages student intake process annually to understand and plan for students? goals and assign industry mentors accordingly.
Faculty and Course Management
Supports adjunct faculty engagement and course administration, including:
Coordinating appointment paperwork and course logistics
Managing TA recruitment and onboarding
Facilitating guest speakers' logistics and course materials
Overseeing submission processes for application-based courses
Collaborates with the Managing Director to develop and manage a faculty relationship management and succession planning strategy, building a pipeline of potential adjunct faculty in around high-priority content areas.
Serves as a liaison with CBS academic departments to manage Heilbrunn course offerings, including prerequisites and enrollment capacity limits.
Strategic Partnership and Outreach
Under the direction of the Managing Director, partners with Career Management Center (CMC) to share internship opportunities and student referrals.
Collaborates with student organizations such as, Columbia Student Investment Management Association to coordinate professional speaker series and engagement opportunities.
Maintains and oversees the Center?s information in the contact database, ensuring accurate records of faculty, student, and industry connections.
Communications and Administration
Drafts, proofreads, and distributes internal and external communications for the Center.
Manage the distribution of emails, newsletters, and outreach materials to stakeholders.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required. Three to five years of related work experience is required.
Requires the ability to work independently and adapt to shifting priorities.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and interact with a wide range of constituencies.
Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills are required.
Must be able to exercise tact and discretion when interacting with faculty, administrators, and students.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
