The Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA), founded in 1891, is a nonprofit organization whose objective is to "promote, influence, and assist in financing the varsity athletic programs of the midshipmen of the United States Naval Academy" in accordance with the policy of the Superintendent of the Academy. Through an intercollegiate athletics program that is one of the largest in the country, every midshipman, male and female, is afforded the opportunity to compete in athletics at the Division I level. The emphasis on physical fitness is borne out in the first line of the mission of the U.S. Naval Academy: To develop midshipmen morally, mentally and physically.
Summary
Produce high level video content for Naval Academy Athletics that includes shooting and editing dynamic pieces for all platforms, i.e. website, social channels, television, video boards, live production, etc. Responsible for content creation plans and execution for assigned projects. Work closely with Sports Information and external departments to ensure full integration and interactivity with all digital platforms.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
In charge of all storytelling, multimedia and creative video efforts for Navy Athletics
Content creator, editor, and broadcast media liaison for Navy’s 36 varsity sports
Ability to assist with content for ESPN+ broadcasts
Strategize, coordinate and execute messaging and video initiatives for all external and internal departments within NAAA. Help with all video initiatives, filming and interviews needed for administrators and staff
Responsible for creating and updating videoboard content within NAAA facilities and the Ron Terwilliger Center for Student-Athletes
Content creator for all ESPN+ halftime shows, team intro videos, and promotional videos
Responsible for Midshipmen creative video program that hires, trains and schedules Midshipmen to assist with filming various games throughout the year
Assist with Navy Athletics social media accounts & assist with department’s digital and social media strategy
Set up LiveCut streams for all broadcasts. Responsible for archiving and logging footage from all live streams and broadcast content. Coordinator for any issues related to video and livestreaming with opposing Athletic Communications departments
Primary videographer for NAAA’s coverage of Navy Football. Responsible for shooting all games and press conferences, archiving, logging and sharing of melts and game broadcasts and providing content to members of the media
On-air reporter and talent for NavySports.com and Navy Social media channels
Sport Information department’s liaison for all video requests from media and broadcast companies
Team member of the Army-Navy Game uniform reveal for Navy Football
Responsible for shooting and editing content for Army-Navy Star Series competitions
Work alongside corporate sales and other external units to partner supporters of Navy Athletics with videos, stories and other social campaigns
Serves as a staff member of a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) - sanctioned athletics program, and understands that NCAA rules and regulations must be followed and strictly adhered to. Maintains an understanding and awareness of applicable NCAA rules via annual compliance briefs to staff, the NCAA Manual, copies of which are maintained in the Compliance Office, regular compliance item e-mails generated by the Compliance Office, and the NCAA official website (ncaapublications.com – Div I Manual). Immediately notifies the Compliance Office if a potential violation of NCAA rules is observed. Understands that non-compliance with NCAA rules and regulations may be grounds for termination of employment

Qualifications
Experience, Education, & Certification(s)
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Multimedia, or a related field of study.
Minimum Experience: One year of experience in an athletics environment. Good interpersonal, management, and organizational skills. Strong content creation background, creative ideas, and have a proven track record for creating high level content. Ability to work in a team/collaborative environment is critical.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Extensive experience in video production, writing and social media, with demonstrated people skills and expertise in planning, writing, editing, designing, production methods, and management.
Experience working in a team-oriented environment
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and/or similar tools for video editing
Additional Eligibility Requirements
Must be eligible to work in the United States of America, without sponsorship.
Must be eligible to work on a military installation, including a willingness to submit to a background screen.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
