Wayland Academy is an independent, coed college preparatory school for boarding and day students, founded in 1855. The admissions and marketing departments are essential to this mission.
Essential Functions
The Assistant Director of Admission coordinates the admission process for applicants and supports broader institution-wide recruitment and marketing efforts This person reports directly to the Dean of Enrollment and Financial Aid. Responsibilities essential to this function include:
Serve as a member of the Committee on Admission, work with prospective students and families throughout the admissions process—introduce the Academy and support them through matriculation.
Host students and families on campus for visits, coordinating tours and schedules.
Represent Wayland Academy regionally at high school fairs and events.
Stay connected with current parents to support student retention efforts and encourage referrals.
Under the guidance of the Employee of Marketing and Communications, monitor and ensure effective visual/interactive assets are available to support marketing efforts (digital and print).
Become SEVIS certified as a Designated School Official and assist with efforts for I-20 procurement by working with SEVIS and the PDSO.
Travel extensively (both domestically and internationally) to help create a funnel of applicants for the Academy.
Support the Admission Coordinator with mailings and answering the phone during their absence.
Monitor the image and brand of the Academy and work with the Dean of Enrollment to make sure that the website and materials are current.
Assist in the creation of marketing materials.
Assist in the training and managing of the Student Ambassadors.
Assist in organizing and executing at least one Open House each year, orientation and registration events for the fall and spring, as well as other on campus events for admission
Facilitate institutional partnerships with US and international partners.
Perform other duties as assigned by Dean of Enrollment and Financial Aid.

The employee routinely supervises students in the dormitories, dining hall and other campus community related activities.

Travel Required
Traveling with and for students for academic, extracurricular, and residential life functions is a regular duty.
Overnight out-of-state or foreign travel for school related business may be assigned.
Unless otherwise explicitly agreed upon by the Head of School, the Employee must have a valid driver’s license, three years of US driving experience upon hire, and maintain the motor vehicle records standards as set forth by the employee handbook.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree
Experience in admissions at a university or independent high school and/ or marketing
Knowledge in or capacity to learn Microsoft Office 365, HubSpot or another CRM, Blackbaud On Suite, SchoolAdmin, Finalsite, Canva, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
Preferred Education and Experience
Master's Degree or other advanced degree
Experience in marketing, educational administration or admissions at an independent school
Work Authorization
Employee must be authorized to work in the United States of America.
Employee must provide identification documentation, provide a list of all states/countries of residence over the past seven years, and pass a comprehensive consumer background check (criminal, department of motor vehicle, credit, and others as needed) prior to employment.
