Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate for the Pharmacology Department within New Jersey Medical School.
Under the direction of the PI, conducts specialized research investigating the molecular mechanisms driving non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and metabolic syndrome using rodent models.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
Assists in conducting a continuous program of research and development. Evaluates existing procedures and proposes modifications or changes in order to keep the methodology and procedures current.
Keeps detailed records of procedures and experiments. Compiles data, presents results and writes manuscripts.
Records and analyzes data from experiments. Maintains a proper data notebook pursuant to the standards of the Department and the PI.
Maintains mouse breeding colonies, feeding protocols and performs experiments.
Performs primary cell isolations, cell culture, biochemical assays, flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry where necessary.
Carries out studies using digital fluorescent imaging microscopy in liver tissue and live hepatic cells using chemical and genetic biosensors.
