The salary range for this position is $72,260- $140,000 annually, commensurate with skill set and experience. Purpose Statement
The ideal candidate is a passionate educator who fosters mathematical reasoning, computational fluency, and real-world problem-solving skills. This teacher will engage students across a wide range of ages and abilities in collaborative, inquiry-driven learning experiences. Next year, the course load could include courses in a range from Algebra 1 through Precalculus.
Beyond the classroom, the teacher will serve as an advisor, mentor, and active participant in the school community, supporting students’ academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
Teach a combination of upper school math courses, with flexibility to instruct Algebra 1 through Precalculus.
Design and implement engaging, interactive lessons for an 80-minute class period, incorporating computational explanations, hands-on explorations, and collaborative problem-solving activities.
Utilize digital Learning Management Systems (we use Canvas) to post weekly agendas, assignments, and instructional resources for 4-5 classes
Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their growth in mathematical thinking
Serve as an advisor to a small group of about 12 students, facilitating meetings, discussions, and mentorship
Participate actively in schoolwide experiential education, including outdoor learning experiences, assemblies, and special events
Engage in faculty collaboration, professional learning communities, and interdisciplinary initiatives
Attend and contribute to school-wide events, such as performances, athletic competitions, and community gatherings
Support admissions efforts, including school tours, open houses, and prospective student events
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field
Minimum of three years of teaching experience, with a track record of innovative and effective instruction
Experience working with English Language Learners (ELL) and/or international students.
Experience working with diverse learners, including students with diagnosed learning and attention differences.
Proficiency with educational technology, including Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas
Commitment to inquiry-based learning, student-centered instruction, and collaboration
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field
Proficiency with digital learning tools in the classroom
Background in curriculum development and assessment design for a range of mathematical abilities
Experience with differentiated instruction
