WHAT OUR TEAM DOES WITHIN THE ACADEMY
Child Welfare Development Services (CWDS) provides workforce development, organizational support, technical assistance and capacity building for the public child welfare staff of Southern California counties. These services include coaching, simulation, classroom training, eLearning and evaluation services. Workforce development services consist of development opportunities for new social workers, the existing workforce, supervisors, managers and executive level leadership as well as community partners and multi-disciplinary partners working closely with child welfare agencies.
Cultural Responsiveness Services Program (CRS) provides unique learning experiences that allow participants to explore cultural differences, recognize potential individual and organizational biases, and practice culturally responsive behaviors through facilitated discussions, coaching, and simulation. It is designed to create a space for self-assessment, the development of skills and strategies to identify and manage bias, and the opportunity to contribute to a project that will improve cultural responsiveness either individual practice or within the organization.

YOUR ROLE IN REVOLUTIONIZING THE WAY PEOPLE WORK
The CRS Consultant is responsible for overseeing workforce development services including culturally responsive practice, needs assessments, service planning and delivery, and capacity building.
THE WORK YOU WILL DO You will be responsible for:
Modeling culturally responsive practice to provide exceptional services to learners, service providers, and stakeholders; by understanding your role, what others need to be successful, and the impact you have in creating learning experiences.
Project management of CRS deliverables including modeling culturally responsive practice to engage partner organizations and ensure smooth delivery of services.
Using Implementation Science to assess organizational readiness, and support implementation of culturally responsive practice at all levels of our partner organizations, thereby positively impacting the communities they serve.
Maintaining a current understanding of regional and state initiatives related to health and human services, and representing the culturally responsive practice perspective in the development of best practices for our partner organizations.
Collaborating with CRS team members and Academy partners to develop learning experiences that are innovative, impactful, and have measurable transfer of learning.
HOW WE ACCOMPLISH OUR WORK
This is a 40-hour-a-week, full-time position, working M-F from 8:00 to 4:30 p.m., and is based on contract funding subject to annual renewal. The position is subject to intermittent overnight travel and work shifts outside of normal business hours including weekends and evenings. This position is based in California and is a hybrid position working some days onsite, up to 1 day/week at the San Diego or Riverside site, and some days up to 4 days/week remote.
Note: some duties may include working with and/or exposure to sensitive/traumatic topics or material dealing with child abuse, abuse against older adults and adults with disabilities, and/or issues and scenarios related to mental health, substance use, or racism.
The Academy is a project of the San Diego State University Research Foundation, which is grant-funded and serves as an auxiliary to the University. The Academy is based near, but not on campus, and does not have direct responsibilities for working with or teaching college students.
The Academy is currently working to update employee classifications. This position may be subject to a future classification change, however, this does not change the role, responsibilities, or compensation of the position. THE SKILLS NEEDED

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in appropriate field related to the program/project -OR-
Additional experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis.
Six (6) years of experience related to the program/project.
Three (3) years of experience providing coaching or training.
(A masters' degree may be substituted for years of experience, up to two years)
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE THAT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU HAVE
Master's degree in Health and Human Services field
Three years of previous experience relating to program/project management
One year of experience leading or coordinating a program within the Health & Human Services or Behavioral Health fields and/or supervising employees
Knowledge of adult learning theory and current workforce development trends
