As Bosque School undergoes a comprehensive library update, we are in search of an innovative and forward-thinking teacher librarian with the capabilities to align our library with twenty-first-century educational models. This presents a remarkable opportunity for a visionary librarian to assume a pivotal role in the transformation of Bosque's library into a gravitational center of learning and community on campus. Other core responsibilities will include being an active collaborator in guiding the creation of a writing center at Bosque, as well as providing ongoing support to students and staffulty through guidance on best practices in research and media literacy. The Teacher Librarian will report to the Academic Dean.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Library Management
Assist in collection management of books (print and digital), databases, periodicals, and other resources.
Maintain and continue to build a diverse and relevant library collection.
Oversee a budget to sustain the library and all its functions.
Serve as a visionary for innovative spatial and informational organization in the library that is informed by current best practices and fosters deep student engagement.
Instructional Support
Foster a love of books and reading across all class levels
Supervise and assist students in the library by maintaining a friendly, supportive environment.
Collaborate with teachers to design and teach research skills, critical thinking, and media/information literacy.
Work with the Bosque Learning Center to provide resources for critical thinking, research, and study skills.
Assist in the development of Bosque’s writing center based on a student-centered model that also provides opportunities for student leadership.
Aid in instruction of ethics of social media, AI use, critical thinking, media/information literacy, and understanding misinformation in the digital age.
Support faculty as they expand their curricula and work with neurodiverse learners.
Community Building
Energize the library as a dynamic community hub sought out by middle and upper school students. Actively work to make student voices an integral part of the library as a physical and digital community space.
Continue to update and showcase resources that reflect students’ lived experiences and expose them to lives beyond their own.
Collaborate with teachers to showcase student academics and artwork in meaningful ways in the library
Help to coordinate community events with families, students, alumni and community partners that showcase Bosque and the library.
Technology Integration:
Support students in navigating an evolving information landscape and employing learner-centered strategies for seeking, evaluating, and sharing information, through nuanced understanding and engagement of databases and technology tools and platforms
Assist students with utilizing technology tools to enhance and share their learning (this could include podcasts, films, and other digital presentations).
Professional Development and Leadership
Model a growth mindset and engage productively in faculty meetings and professional development programs
Be a highly visible, “roving reference librarian” who is involved in multiple aspects of the learning experiences of students and staffulty.
Help coordinate/lead professional development on AI, technology, information literacy, and other relevant topics.
Actively work with teachers and students to inform them of relevant resources, as well as how to access and use them in their learning.

Qualifications & Educational Requirements:
3-5 years of professional experience as a school or public librarian.
Expertise in developing curricular-based programming and instructional support.
Well-versed in current trends in library sciences and relevant databases and technology.
Passion for working with students in grades 6-12. Possesses a student-centered focus with strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, curiosity, the ability to multitask, strong vision and initiative, and a love of learning.
Willing to maintain a visible and dynamic presence in the library, campus, and in classrooms to provide multi-tiered support for students and staffulty.
