Under the direction of the Enterprise Applications Supervisor, this position provides web application programming and support for the UC Davis video lecture capture system and the Canvas Data Provisioning System (CDPS). The video lecture capture system utilizes over 130 lecture capture rooms across campus to deliver digital streaming video of recorded class lectures to students online. CDPS provisions and maintains user, course, section, and enrollment data for the campus LMS, Canvas, with data sourced from Banner, Mothra, and IAM. This position collaborates with senior software engineers to develop a custom automation system for video lecture capture, requiring the integration of multiple systems both on-premise and in the cloud, and is responsible for the maintenance and monitoring of CDPS. The role requires independent judgment in executing responsibilities and a high level of customer service in providing consultation and solutions to campus clients. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
At least 4 or more years of software development experience working in an agile development environment.
Experience developing custom web applications using Java, Python, and/or NodeJS and developing SQL and ETL.
Experience in Bitbucket and CI/CD practices and tools like Jenkins.
In-depth knowledge of full-stack development, including React, JavaScript, NodeJS, TypeScript, CSS, and REST API.
Interpersonal and written communication skills to convey technical information to all technical and hierarchical levels.
Strong understanding of SDLC (agile methodologies) from scoping, requirements gathering, development, and quality assurance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading in the design, development and deployment of large scope projects using cloud technologies (e.g. AWS EC2, S3, VPC, ECS, RDS, Lambda, Glacier, CloudWatch) with an emphasis on best practice cloud security.
Experience collaborating with clients and managing complex technology projects including building requirements and project estimates, and recognizing and analyzing current and future needs.
Working knowledge of higher education enterprise applications such as student information systems, financial systems, and human resource information systems.
Familiarity with campus CyberSafety standards and administrative computing policies.

Work Environment
Hire MUST be located in-state. (Out of state applicants will be considered but must relocate instate if hired).
