Overview
NYU's Stern School of Business has an exciting opportunity for an Educational Technologist in the Learning Science Lab. The Educational Technologist will oversee the operations of the learning management system for NYU Stern. Consult with faculty to design, develop, and implement technology-enhanced teaching and learning initiatives, including those delivered face-to-face and online. Design and deliver digital learning resources. Evaluate current technology used by faculty, and provide pedagogical and technical support in curricular design and development. Create and deliver training programs, including training sessions and workshops. Create multimedia training materials for delivery on the Learning Science website. Advise and educate faculty, staff and students in the availability of technological resources within the NYU community, nationally and internationally. Research and test emerging technologies for teaching, learning and research. Attend conferences, enroll in classes, read trade and professional publications to ensure on-going professional development.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degreeand 3+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience designing and implementing interactive experiences for hybrid and/or online learning environments, experience applying instructional design principles and pedagogical best practices for increasing learner motivation and active learning, and evidence of advancing knowledge through targeted professional development efforts are required. Intermediate knowledge of data, image, video, web, visualization, and sound processing software, knowledge of learning analytics and how to interpret them, and the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff are also required.
Demonstrated use of integrating technology into teaching and learning initiatives, experience implementing online educational solutions at the college, university, or corporate level, and experience teaching informally or formally within higher education is preferred. Experience with eLearning authoring tools such as Sakai, social and collaborative tools such as GoogleApps, web development (HTML and CSS), and digital video production software, superior project management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a team-based atmosphere with high standards for quality and creativity, and experience with disciplinary trends such as usability, accessibility design, app development for learning are also preferred.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $82,000.60. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
