Overview
Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Academic Affairs and Operations, the Department Administrator will manage operations and day-to-day activities for all areas within faculty affairs at the Center for Data Science (CDS), including providing administrative support to tenure/tenure track faculty and faculty fellows at CDS. The Department Administrator will have primary responsibility for monitoring and managing the timely execution of the faculty appointment, promotion, and tenure processes, and facilitating faculty recruitment processes. Complete special projects, initiatives, and assignments in collaboration with appropriate personnel or NYU offices, ensuring all University and CDS policies are adhered to. Manage and execute CDS events, conferences, strategy meetings. Oversee all aspects of the CDS-managed housing units, including leasing paperwork, move in/out procedures, and mitigating potential issues and risks.
Responsibilities
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience: 3+ years of operational/project management experience or related experience
Preferred Experience: Experience in an academic environment.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. Excellent skills in short- and long-term range planning, program, and project management, facilitation, and collaboration. Proven ability to respond to rapid questioning or difficult or sensitive issues. Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills. Adaptability to meet the needs of the Center. Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $75,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
