Overview
Manage and supervise evening operations for the Collaborative Arts Department to ensure continuous, reliable, and efficient functioning of all technologies and operations. Manage audio/video equipment room, recording studio, camera studio, and computer lab. Implement operational and creative policies and practices to ensure that the safety and security of faculty, students, facilities, and equipment is realized. Support technical production of a variety of special projects and events. Create and maintain all digital, database, media archiving, and web resources. Supervise students. This position has hours of M-Th:11AM-7PM, Fri:9AM-5PM when school is in session and M-F:9AM-5PM during breaks.
Responsibilities
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Master's Degree fabrication, digital art, immersive art, or related
Required Experience: 3+ years Responsible experience or an equivalent combination. Must be familiar with audio/visual equipment, makerspace and wood shop, and computer operations and technologies. Must have excellent communication, project management, and supervisory experience.
Preferred Experience: 5+ years in an academic and/or creative multimedia environment.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent communication skills (oral and written). Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision, strong follow-through skills, and able to support relationships with internal and external university partners. Detail-oriented and able to prepare complex documents (such as technical documentation for student use) with minimal errors. A quick learner and able to master new skills. Must be conversant with industry-standard workflows for software and hardware, including audio/visual, recording and filmmaking, theatrical lighting/production, and computer and software operations and technologies. Comfort and experience in makerspace and wood shop. Skilled in use of Microsoft office + Google software, and capable of working with internal administrative software. Comfortable supervising student workers.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Capable of taking the initiative to implement plans and programs and possess strong interpersonal skills to support student and faculty work. Knowledge of graphic design/web editing, new media, theatrical operations, fabrication, audio/visual and/or interdisciplinary arts industry.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $82,500.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
