Position Summary/Description:
The Department of Otolarygnology/Head & Neck Surgery is looking to fill a Research Professional position within the Head and Neck Oncology laboratory. This role is pivotal in driving forward laboratory-based translational and clinical research focused on various aspects of head and neck cancer. As a Lead Research Professional, this position involves leading the development and validation of models of head and neck cancer, overseeing preclinical testing of novel therapies (including drug delivery, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies) in these models, and managing a small research team. Responsibilities encompass research project management, laboratory operations oversight, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and IACUC/IRB protocols, developing and optimizing molecular biology techniques, conducting rigorous data analysis, securing research funding, publishing research findings, and effectively communicating research outcomes to diverse audiences.
Education and Experience:
Recent PhD with a strong background in head and neck cancer research. Possesses extensive experience in utilizing mouse models to study human cancer. Proven ability to lead and mentor research teams, as well as secure external research funding.
Essential Skills:
PhD degree in Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacology, or other related field. Excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and oral communication skills. Experience working in an oncology research lab. At least (two) 2 publications in high quality peer-reviewed scientific journals.
