The University of Iowa is seeking a creative and motivated professional to join our Organizational Effectiveness team within University Human Resources. As the Assistant Director, Organizational and Leadership Development, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and providing professional human resource services and programs related to Leadership Development and Organizational Development to faculty administrators, directors, managers, supervisors, HR professionals and other University employees. You will develop and implement leadership development programming, coordinate leadership coaching and provide organizational development consulting services.

Provide leadership and vision for organizational development and leadership development initiatives, including strategic partnerships with UI colleges and divisions
Participate in initiatives to advance UI and University HR strategic priorities, driving faculty and staff success, wellbeing and diversity, equity and inclusion.
Deliver consulting services across a range of organizational development (OD) focus areas, e.g. organizational change, team dynamics, culture, diagnostics/assessments.
Provide development, execution and oversight of campus-wide leadership development programming.
Manage leadership coaching services provided through leadership programs for faculty and staff.
Provide reports on implementation and impact of leadership development initiatives for use in marketing, direction-setting, and recommendations for ongoing implementation.
Conduct needs assessments and analyze data to determine future programs and services and improve existing programs and services.
Support strategic plan implementation efforts as a partner to colleges, departments, and units for UI and UI Health Care.
Develop and implement communication plans for leadership development programs in accordance and in partnership with university HR guidelines and communication strategy.

Master's degree in organizational development, business administration, psychology, instructional design, human resources management, industrial/organizational psychology, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated ability to design and manage complex projects and programs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to produce documents that are clear and well-presented and able to adapt communication to different audiences.
Strong collaboration skills; demonstrated ability to work with others outside of chain of command to produce results.
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a welcoming and respectful environment
Ability to gather, interpret, and present data clearly, and to utilize data to inform decisions.
Experience with computer software applications, including Microsoft Office, and video conferencing (e.g. Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
Position specific required qualifications:
Experience, typically 3-5 years, in organizational development/change management and/or leadership development.
Demonstrated experience in advising managers and leaders on talent development, leadership development, team building/culture, and change management.
Experience facilitating workshops and programs in person and virtually.
Desirable Qualifications:
Leadership experience, such as supervision of professionals, project/initiative leadership, serving as a member of a leadership team.
Experience working in a large, complex organization such as a university.
Certification/training in one or more of the following:
project management
change management
coaching
PHR or SPHR
Other related certificates
