Job Description:
Strategic Relations and Communications, the central communications and marketing unit at Iowa State, is looking for an experienced communications professional who excels in writing for internal and external audiences across various communication and marketing channels. The ideal candidate will demonstrate outstanding writing and communication abilities, coupled with a strong sense of innovation, professionalism, and leadership. This role requires someone who can work independently, manage time, make informed decisions, and contribute to a team environment.
This position offers the opportunity to write about Iowa States impact and achievements from groundbreaking university research to campus initiatives to inspiring student success stories. You'll be joining a highly collaborative team that supports the universitys mission by sharing stories of innovation, teaching and extension and outreach.
Job duties include:
Generating news and feature stories to uplift university priorities and brand
Pitching stories and facilitating interview requests with Iowa State experts
Contributing to social media efforts
Contributing to or leading team projects in support of strategic initiatives
Collaborating with communication and marketing professionals across campus
Coordinating visual elements (photography, video, etc.) to support stories
Reviewing, proofreading and fact-checking content
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
