Under the direction of the Educational Program Manager 4, the employee serves as an Educational Program Specialist 2 for the College of Engineering (CoE) at The Ohio State University by creating learning opportunities consistent with the College's strategic plan for providing a world-class engineering and architecture education. This position will work on a collaborative team alongside instructional designers and other technologists to support faculty in integrating high-quality, instructionally effective, accessible course materials and technologies into their course offerings to enhance the student experience. This role will have a strong focus on video and multimedia production and post processing and will oversee the physical equipment within the design studio.
The Educational Program Specialist 2, as the subject matter expert for media production, will engage in consultations; create artifacts in core learning technology tools (e.g. LMS, videoconferencing), interactive eLearning objects (e.g. H5P, Articulate), basic HTML and e-book formatting, and multimedia (video and digital images), all while utilizing backward design, learning theory, principles of college teaching, and consistent project management to support course design and development as part of an agile, high-performing team. Additionally, this position assists with researching technologies and pedagogical approaches that support technology-enhanced learning and engage in professional development opportunities in learning theory, eLearning development, and multimedia development to bolster instructional design and eLearning artifact development; engages with other campus partners focused on educational technology to share and collaborate on resources and best practices.
Desired skills and experience: 1-3 years professional experience at a higher educational institution in multimedia production, instructional design, or learning technology; 1-3 years experience in video production and post processing;; 1-3 years experience with eLearning and video production technologies (LMS, H5P, Adobe Premiere, Articulate, etc.); Experience designing, developing, & evaluating online course websites, learning objects & modules; Ability to manage projects; Ability to work across academic content areas, technologies, software, & tools; Possess basic technology skills (HTML, iMovie, PowerPoint); Knowledge of digital accessibility requirements for online courses; Ability to plan and execute projects and multiple priorities; Experience with copyright and accessibility considerations; Ability to provide high quality, detail oriented, effective communication, and customer service skills in a higher education setting.
Additional Information: The successful candidate will be a self-motivated worker who works effectively both independently and as part of a team; leads and manages project; is skilled at achieving consensus between disparate parties; and is able to convey complex technical information though summarization and simplification using clear language appropriate for the audience
The target hiring range for this job profile is $22.69 to $29.83 per hour. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
