Leads annual budget and strategic planning alongside the Faculty Director, including identification and implementation of new initiatives, and sunsetting of current ones. Monitors quarterly revenue and expenses vs. budget and adjusts plans as needed.Â
Hires, leads, motivates, and develops a team of nine Stigler Center Staff (five program, operations, and initiatives staff and four research staff). Sets the department's strategic direction in terms of overall business objectives and talent management/workforce planning and budget.
Oversees the Communications and Marketing Strategies, assuring the integration of the Centerâ™s multi-stakeholder, multi-channel strategic marketing, and communication plans across ProMarket.org publication, Capitalisnâ™t podcast, and other Center initiatives and platforms. Oversees integrated content calendar and execution of all communications and marketing efforts across all platforms. Â
Serves as a key spokesperson for many of the Stigler Centerâ™s activities involving alumni and students, such as introducing speakers, interacting closely with Stigler Faculty Advisory Committee members, and soliciting and helping to secure donations from prospective alumni donors.
Acts as the Centerâ™s Air Traffic Controller, managing project flow, prioritizing various initiatives due to deadlines, the needs of senior University officials, and other factors. Ensures teams and projects are fully informed of initiatives.
Integrates work streams and efforts that otherwise would be siloed, identifying synergies and dissonance between the Centerâ™s research initiatives, conferences/events, podcast, and digital publications. Ensures proper information flow on key Center initiatives between the Faculty Advisor, Center staff, and appropriate departments.
Serves as a key spokesperson for many of the Stigler Centerâ™s activities involving alums and students, such as introducing speakers, interacting closely with Stigler Faculty Advisory Committee members, fundraising.
Manages related teams. Establishes department priorities, may be responsible for the management of the center budget, allocates resources and executes strategic plans.
Oversees a communication strategy and marketing efforts aimed at increasing the visibility of the Center. Collaborates with others to make the center a valuable resource to all students and contributes to the broad goals of creating a stronger campus community.
Performs other related work as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
Bachelorâ™s degree.
Masterâ™s degree.
Experience:
Minimum eight years of professional experience.
Minimum six years of progressively responsible management/leadership experience.
Background in nonprofit or higher education sectors.
Professional communications, marketing, and brand strategy experience.
Manage individuals and successfully navigate large, complex organizations.
Familiarity with financial budgeting and planning.
