As the Enterprise Applications Engineer, you will leverage your extensive expertise in Campus Solutions, Human Capital Management (HCM), and PeopleSoft Financials within the PeopleSoft ecosystem. Your primary role involves managing and advancing the PeopleSoft platform, with a focus on integrating Time & Labor, Benefits, Payroll, Expenses, and other critical modules across the entire PeopleSoft ecosystem to meet the specific needs of the higher education sector at Azusa Pacific University.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience, is required; a Master's degree in one of those disciplines is preferred. ITIL Certification nice to have.
Required Experience
Three plus years of experience of In-depth PeopleSoft knowledge: Profound understanding of PeopleSoft HCM, Financials, and Campus Solutions, particularly in Time & Labor, Benefits, and Payroll modules.
Technical Proficiency: Expertise in PeopleTools, PeopleCode, Application Engine, SQR, and SQL to support optimal PeopleSoft functionality. Demonstrated growth over time in technical knowledge, problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Implementation Skills: Demonstrated ability to implement and oversee PeopleSoft solutions tailored for the higher education sector.
Communication and Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of effective collaboration with diverse internal teams. Hands-on experience with process automation, best practice, technology efficiency, and effectiveness.
Regulatory Compliance: Experience with relevant data security and privacy regulations.
PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, HCM and Financials: Experience in these areas is a strong plus, enhancing the integrated management of academic, financial, and HR functions.
System Integrations: Extensive knowledge of integrating PeopleSoft with other enterprise systems.
Higher Education Knowledge: Required experience with Higher Education practices, including FERPA and HIPAA.
Project Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively and at a fast pace.
Primary Duties/Essential Functions
Lead Design and Configuration: Spearhead the design, configuration, and continuous enhancement of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, HCM, and Financials modules. Ensure these integrations are seamless and fully aligned with institutional strategies and objectives.
System Optimization: Setup, configure, deploy, and oversee the roll-out of PeopleSoft modules, transitioning from external SaaS solutions to more robust, internal PeopleSoft functionalities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with academic leaders, HR, Payroll, Financials, IT, and academic administration teams to ensure the PeopleSoft platform is responsive to the comprehensive needs of the institution and adheres to best practices in higher education.
Technical Troubleshooting: Resolve complex issues within the PeopleSoft environment, maintaining stable and efficient operations across all integrated systems.
Innovation and Updates: Stay abreast of the latest PeopleSoft developments, applying innovative features and updates to enhance system capabilities.
Technical Leadership: Act as the principal technical expert for PeopleSoft, driving system improvements and advising on best practices.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and other IT personnel engaged in PeopleSoft-related activities.
Documentation and Compliance: Maintain detailed documentation of all PeopleSoft configurations and customizations. Ensure adherence to data security, privacy standards, and institutional policies.
Skills
Expert in all phases of systems analysis, design, and support.
PeopleSoft Reporting Tools (Query Manager, nVision, BI Publisher).
Proficient in Google Apps and Microsoft Office.
Work/project tracking systems (e.g., Asana, HappyFox, JIRA, or other bug tracking, issue tracking and agile project management ticketing systems).
Team collaboration tools (e.g., Wiki, Slack, etc.).
Compensation:
Grade 17: $91,587 to $105,325 is the annual salary for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package.
