Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Blood & Recruitment Systems, takes a leadership role in planning, implementing, validating, evaluating, and configuring systems to meet the Information Services (IS) needs for assigned lines of service. As a senior member of the I.S. Blood Services team, this role will provide expert advice to both the Recruitment and Blood Services teams. This position requires a strong understanding of the healthcare environment, including the management and configuration of regulatory computer systems, as well as proven experience with system validation within healthcare settings. The role involves supporting and configuring multiple systems for differing service lines, addressing complex interrelationships, and ensuring seamless integration across various systems. Responsibilities include independently managing multiple complex projects simultaneously with minimal supervision, configuring systems to meet organizational needs, managing vendor relationships to implement system enhancements and resolve bugs, and applying general project management principles and techniques. Critical thinking and analytical skills are essential for success in this role, and familiarity with Blood Bank operations is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
Act as IS/IT lead as required for assigned line of service business need initiatives, and for heavily IT centric projects may take a project leadership/management role.
Routinely interacts with manager and supervisory level in assigned line of service to assess operational needs, and aids IS management in prioritizing those requests relative to strategic initiatives via the Change Management Advisory Board (CAB).
Provides expert business and systems analysis functions for line of service.
Aids management in coordinating work of others in IS to meet service line needs.
Performs and coordinates systems testing for purchased and in-house developed applications. Aids end users in planning and executing Performance Qualification (PQ) or user acceptance testing with required resources in IS.
Oversees database and reference table changes for applications under their responsibility.
Works cooperatively with Data Center Services and Technical Services in ensuring optimal infrastructure and service desk support is provided.
Taking a holistic view of all systems supporting the service line, ensures appropriate cross-system and data integrity.
Ensures (Software Development Life Cycle) SDLC and Project Life Cycle (PLC) processes are followed for all initiatives.
Works with vendors to define and deliver optimal solutions for line of service.
Provides assistance and guidance in vendor selection and/or in house development assessments.
May perform data analysis per business unit requests.
Performs training.
Ensures project and software development life cycle is followed and complete for all work.
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education
4 year degree required
Management Information Systems (MIS)/Computer Science (CSCI) degree or related experience preferred
Experience
4-6 years experience with software applications related to blood banking or laboratory work required
1-3 years project management experience required
Strong technical/application foundation and experience required
1-3 years application management experience required
Experience in coordinating resources and skills across multiple projects simultaneously required
Previous leadership experience preferred
Strong understanding of the healthcare environment and expertise in managing regulatory computer systems desired
Proven experience with system validation within a healthcare setting desired
Skilled in managing vendor relationships to implement system enhancements and resolve bugs effectively, desired
Familiarity with Blood Bank operations is highly desirable
Solid knowledge of project management principles and techniques, with the ability to apply them effectively, desired
Proven critical thinking and analytic skills
