As an extern at Lone Star Animal Hospital, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a modern veterinary setting. Highlights include:

• Exposure to advanced diagnostics with IDEXX equipment (ProCyte Dx, Catalyst, Sedivue) and in-house lab capabilities.
• Experience with digital radiology (full-body and dental) and therapeutic laser therapy.
• Opportunities to assist in our surgical suite, equipped with monitoring tools and electrocautery.
• Mentorship from an experienced veterinarian and a dedicated, supportive team including LVTs.
• A chance to develop clinical and client communication skills in a collaborative environment.

Most externship experiences at Lone Star Animal Hospital range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. Externships are available for 1st through 4th year veterinary students.
