Responsibilities:

• Provide high quality veterinary care to our canine and feline patients - including routine wellness exams, vaccinations, and urgent/emergency care
• Diagnose and treat diseases using diagnostic tools such as cytology, x-ray, ultrasound and laboratory tests
• Maintain accurate medical records. Our hospital uses a cloud-based system, Pulse. Many of our Drs also utilize an AI Scribe called Scribble Vet to streamline medical record keeping - making it quicker and more efficient
• **If interested** Ability to perform surgical procedures including: spay/neuter, soft tissue surgery, as well as dental procedures

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary college
• Valid veterinary license to practice in NJ including DEA and CDS license
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and staff
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Founded in 1905, West Orange Animal Hospital is privately owned, family-run (husband/wife/daughter) companion animal hospital. In 2016, our hospital underwent a complete renovation/expansion to include a state of the art surgical suite, complete in-house IDEXX laboratory, digital x-ray (including dental x-ray) and modern GE ultrasound. Our experienced veterinarians perform complex surgical and dental procedures, have the ability to perform ultrasounds and echocardiograms, and practice modern medicine to provide the highest quality of care.

West Orange Animal Hospital is located in Essex County, NJ and currently has 4 Veterinarians and is seeking a 5th. We are situated in Suburban Essex County, surrounded by golf courses, South Mountain Reservation and Turtle Back Zoo. The hospital is 15 minutes from downtown Montclair and Newark and 25 minutes from Hoboken and NYC.

We see appointments Monday: 9am-6pm, T/W/Th/Fr: 9am-5pm, Saturday: 9am-1pm. Schedule is flexible and Saturday shifts are alternated. There are no after hour responsibilities; emergencies are referred to a local emergency clinic .
