Trinity Episcopal School is seeking a Middle School (5-8) Digital Learning Catalyst for the 2025-26 school year. This employee is a member of the K-8 faculty and reports directly to the Head of Middle School. This 10.5-month full-time position collaborates with the Technology Team for the overall vision, leadership, and execution of academic technology and innovation within Trinity Episcopal School. The MS Digital Learning Catalyst supports the work of the School by promoting the mission, values, and policies of Trinity Episcopal School.

The MS Digital Learning Catalyst’s primary responsibilities include the following:

Programmatic Coordination

• Work collaboratively with the Academic Leadership Team to plan and implement the use of educational technology within the instructional curriculum
• Act as a consultant in decisions involving the intersection of computing and school culture and/or curriculum
• Meet regularly with the Assistant Head of School for Academics and the Academic Team to evaluate digital pedagogy and technology integration in classrooms
• Work collaboratively with the IT Director to plan major rollouts, student device deployment and collection, and device refresh cycles
• Review, design, and implement the 5-8 technology curriculum in collaboration with the Academic Team and the LS Digital Learning Catalyst
• Research and evaluate emerging tools, technologies, and pedagogies to stay current in the industry
• Maintain an active presence in the local, regional, and national communities of design, engineering, and instructional technology
• Collaborate and network with other schools, organizations, technology specialists, and others who can help further promote the School’s effective use of technology as an instructional tool and as a tool for supporting faculty and staff daily work  

Student Instruction 

• Teach 5th grade Technology, 7th grade Computer Science, and a MS computing elective
• Design and update a curriculum for technology classes that incorporates design thinking, computing, and digital citizenship 
• Inspire and support students to pursue their passions in design, innovation, and technology 
• Plan for the accommodation of learning differences in collaboration with the learning catalysts via the usage of appropriate technology tools, i.e. adaptive/assistive devices, audio recordings, etc.

Faculty Partnerships and Professional Development 

• Design, deliver, and oversee professional development and growth experiences in areas of innovation, technology integration, and instructional design.
• Work closely with grade level and divisional teams to foster an environment of thoughtful, creative, and independent use of technology and build excitement for leveraging technology in the curriculum.
• Support and partner with  teachers and model design and implementation of technology-enhanced learning experiences
• Support faculty in the implementation of digital learning programs
• Manage substitute teacher device training, distribution, and collection

General Administration and Responsibilities 

• Provide occasional backup technology support assistance to teachers, staff, and students
• Collaborate with the IT Director and LS Digital Learning Catalyst to resolve IT-related issues as needed 
• Assist in the imaging of computer systems prior to the beginning of the school year
• Collaborate with the IT Director and LS Digital Learning Catalyst to manage subscription renewals for digital learning programs
• Create and manage student and faculty accounts for digital learning programs
• Help promote the School by welcoming prospective parents and visitors into the classroom in conjunction with the Admission office
• All other duties as assigned by the Middle School Head and Assistant Head of School

Education and Work Experience

• An undergraduate degree is required, with a preference for education, technology, or a related field
• A minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching experience, with a preference for K-8 experience

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience teaching in a 1:1 Chromebook environment
• Preferred experience using the following digital learning programs: Google Workplace for Education, Seesaw, IXL Learning, and/or additional digital learning platforms 
• Preferred experience with one or more of the following technologies: 3D printing, Dash robots, Lego WeDo 2.0 robotics, Sphero robots, ClassVR, and/or other instructional technologies
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, writing, organizational and communication skills
